Tene faces multiple challenges- creating a harmonious community in the

midst of the complexity of the Hebron region, whilst strengthening the

Negev.

Tene Omarim seeks funding to upgrade an existing playground to serve

the growing population. The Yishuv has absorbed a large number of new

young families, in addition to the families of Gush Katif.

However, there is only one actively functioning playground which is located a great distance from the younger population. The current playground that is

adjacent to the relevant population is currently unusable and unsafe.

We further seek to transform the playground to one that is adapted to

children with special needs. Currently, there is no such playground in the

entire Southern Hebron Hills region.

Due to the fact the Yishuv is situated in the periphery the population is on a lower economic level than greater Israel and due to the complex region, much of the current taxation is used towards security purposes, leaving a lack of funds to

create much needed facilities.

With the current lack of a safe playground, hundreds of our children

are found playing in unsafe environments such as the street or

to the screen of a TV. As the decline of play is closely linked to ADHD;

behavioral problems; and stunted social, cognitive, and creative

development, we see great importance in realizing this initiative. The

current playground has unsafe foundation, offers no shade and is

completely unappealing to our children.

Any support towards realising this dream is greatly supported!
